Legal
Effective October 16, 2026 — this policy explains what information AnyState Carman ("Carman", "we", "us") collects and how it is used when you use our app and website.
Account information: name, email address or phone identifier, password (stored in hashed form), and account role (driver or mechanic).
Vehicle information: VIN, make, model, year, trim and state — used to diagnose issues and match you with mechanics. VINs are looked up against official US government vehicle data (NHTSA vPIC).
Issue reports and photos: descriptions, symptoms, voice notes and photos you attach to a repair request, plus completion photos uploaded by mechanics.
Location: approximate or precise location (with your permission) to find mechanics near you and share your location with the mechanic you selected for an active order.
Communications: all in-app chat messages are stored so we can moderate the platform, filter contact details, and review evidence if a dispute arises.
Payment and wallet data: wallet balance, transaction history (top-ups, holds, releases, refunds, withdrawals), and payment instrument details. Card numbers are processed by our payment provider and never stored on our servers.
Mechanic information: license or certification details, labor rates, business name, ratings and acceptance statistics — used for verification and ranking.
Technical data: device type, OS version, app version and logs needed for security and debugging.
With mechanics: your first name or display name, vehicle details, issue report, photos and location for orders you choose to book — never your payment instrument.
With drivers: mechanic name, rating, distance and quote for requests you receive.
With service providers: hosting, database, payment processing and analytics processors who process data only on our instructions.
When required by law: in response to valid legal process or to protect the safety of our users and the public.
We never sell your personal information.
Phone numbers, emails and messaging-app mentions are automatically detected and blocked in chat to keep communication inside Carman. Messages flagged this way are retained as part of the conversation record.
We keep account and order data while your account is active and as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us; some transaction records may be retained where required by law.
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and payment handling through PCI-compliant providers. No system is 100% secure — if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and regulators as required by law.
Depending on your state, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Contact privacy@anystate.online to submit a request.
Carman is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Camera access is used for issue and completion photos; photo-library access for attaching existing images; location to calculate distances and share your position during an active order. You can deny any permission in your device settings, though some features will not work without them.
We may update this policy and will post the new effective date on this page. Questions: privacy@anystate.online or AnyState, Attn: Privacy, hello@anystate.online.
